Cryptozoic Entertainment was out full force at the Game Manufacturer’s Association (GAMA) Trade Show this past week in Las Vegas, NV. The Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to serving the tabletop game industry and Cryptozoic was very excited to be a part of their annual event. From our booth in the exhibit hall to our seminar presentations, we had the chance to talk directly with many of the hobby industry’s most important members: the store owners and managers! What’s more, Cryptozoic announced some of the new products that we have lined up for 2011—and gave retailers a chance for a sneek peek!
The center of the action for Cryptozoic was our booth. Right in the front of the hall, we had a chance not only to show off some of our upcoming games and trading cards, but also had the space to give some advance demos. One of the cooler things that retailers got a chance to do at the show was demo our newly announced original game, Food Fight. Up to six players draft entree and side dish cards as “troops” and pit them against each other in the ultimate food fight.
Here you can see some lucky retailers who got to play Food Fight with game designer Matt Hyra.
General Cheeseburger and Warrant Officer Waffle to go head to head with Private Pancake and using condiments and garnishes to increase their power.
In addition to demos, visitors to the booth could also get a look at some of our upcoming products for the year. Here we can see the upcoming sets for War of the Elements and Twilight of the Dragons, as well as a teaser for the upcoming block, known only as code name: Menagerie.
Besides visiting our booth, there were plenty of ways to get the scoop on what is new with Cryptozoic. One of the most popular ways was to attend one of our seminars, led by both President and Chief Creative Officer Cory Jones and Chief Operating Officer Scott Gaeta. These seminars introduced our product line-up for the year and also outlined all of the tools and support that Cryptozoic makes available to stores around the globe, from Battleground kits to Holiday Programs. Probably the biggest hit of the show was when Cory announced The Walking Dead Trading Cards. The gasp in the audience was audible!
As you can see, Cryptozoic has some amazing trading cards and games lined up for the year, and is not only focused on World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game. We value the chance to talk directly to hobby shops and work with them to provide the best possible products and services to our fans. That is truly what being “fans first” is all about!
