After all the previews for season 3 of The Walking Dead at Comic-Con, it seems like everyone I know is anxiously waiting for October. As one of my favorite shows on TV, getting to work on the trading card set is such an exciting project and I'm very happy to share with fans a few details for the upcoming set based on season 2!
The base set will chronicle the groups' experiences throughout the season as the survivors find a brief reprieve from the struggles on the road at the Greene's farm. Although Sophia is missing and Shane's behavior is increasingly volatile, life seems a little easier for the group despite Hershel's uneasiness about having them at the farm.
Chase sets will include a look at how the characters have developed in their Character Bios; information on what we've learned about the Walkers will be featured on the very cool Walker Shadow Box cards, and fans can put together a front and back foil puzzle set. There will be several wardrobe cards for fans to hunt down. Here is a look at just a few of the costumes that fans will be able to find!
Rick's White Tee
Sohpia's Blue Rainbow Shirt
Andrea's White Striped Shirt
Maggie's Purple Tank Top
Dale's White Tank Top
One of our favorite things around the office is always sketch cards, and the artists really brought their A-game for this set! I really like the cards for this set because the actor likeness cards always impress me. It is truly amazing how the artists are able to transform a blank 2.5" x 3.5" card into a piece of art! Here is a sneak peek at some of the cards that have been approved so far:
Charles Hall's Andrea sketch
Chris Hoffman's Dale sketch
Gary Kezele's Glenn sketch
Tim Shay's Hershel sketch
Dan Bergren's Rick sketch
Glebe's Shane sketch
Tim Shay's T-Dog sketch
Shane McCormack's Walker sketch
Thank you for taking a bit of time to look at what's coming up this fall for The Walking Dead, and as more details are ready, we'll be sure to get them out to the fans!
