Cartoon Network Enterprises Announce Adventure Time: Card Wars Mobile and Collectible Card Games

Available This Month, Cryptozoic and D3Publisher Create All-New Companion Games Based on Episode from Top-Rated Comedy Series

Cartoon Network Enterprises today announced the launch of an all-new Adventure Time: Card Wars customizable card game and mobile game based on the popular episode from its top-rated comedy series. Adventure Time fans will remember Card Wars as a unique, turn-based trading card game played by series stars Finn and Jake in the fourth season episode of the same name. Beginning this month, fans can experience the mythical land of Card Wars for themselves in a new trading card game from Cryptozoic Entertainment and all-new mobile game from D3Publisher. The games, which will interact with one another to create an enhanced fan experience, will debut at retail and in mobile game marketplaces later this month.

“The Adventure Time world is incredibly vast and full of imagination, which leads to great opportunities for consumer products,” said Pete Yoder, vice president of consumer products, CNE. “From one episode in the television series, with Card Wars, D3 and Cryptozoic were able to create rich, unique product extensions that live off-screen and expand our fans’ experience with the show and its characters in an imaginative way.”

The Adventure Time: Card Wars mobile game from D3Publisher is a creature-collecting, card based role-playing game set within the fun-filled world of Adventure Time. Developed by Kung Fu Factory, the game features 20 playable characters from the Land of Ooo, craftable cards, hundreds of creatures, spells and abilities and much more. With more than 200 cards featuring unique abilities, over 250 playable quests and 90 tournament battles, players will get to summon creatures, build buildings, cast spells and watch creatures literally come to life on their holographic game board! Adventure Time: Card Wars will soon be available for $3.99 with optional in-app purchases.

In Cryptozoic’s Adventure Time: Card Wars customizable card game, players will use decks just like in the show. One box has Jake’s Corn-themed deck vs Finn’s Blue Plains deck, while the other has BMO’s Useless Swamp deck vs Lady Rainicorn’s Sandy Lands deck. Players can also create their very own deck with the cards from these decks! Each turn, players can spend Action Points on Creatures, Spells and Locations. Some creatures have special FLOOP abilities that activate their special ability. Other creatures have combat abilities that will aid greatly in players’ efforts to reduce their opponent’s Hit Points to zero. The player who successfully does that first is declared the Cool Guy, and wins the game. Cryptozoic will launch with four themed decks (two per SKU), based around four different characters from the Adventure Time series. Adventure Time: Card Wars from Cryptozoic Entertainment will be available starting Wednesday, February 19 at specialty retailers for the suggested retail price of $20.00.

As an added bonus, the Adventure Time: Card Wars customizable card game will include download codes for use within the digital version of the game, providing an enhanced opportunity for fans.
